General Hospital actor Réal Andrews (Marcus Taggert) reveals that he's finally back in the role of Marcus Taggert, who's recently been played by Asante Jones.

General Hospital viewers who have been missing Réal Andrews in the role of Marcus Taggert have something to celebrate. The actor reveals that he's back in the shoes of his Port Charles alter ego!

"Taggert is back!" Andrews posted on Instagram along with a Boomerang video that shows a small portion of a GH script with his character's name included.

GH unexpectedly recast the role of Taggert with actor Asante Jones back in November 2020. Since Andrews had previously shared that he was battling cancer, fans assumed that the recast was due to health issues connected to his diagnosis. However, Andrews corrected the rumors and shared that he was cancer free, though his update did not reveal why GH had temporarily recast him.

Andrews returned to GH in January of 2021 but was almost immediately sidelined yet again, this time due to a COVID-19 diagnosis. He appeared on-screen sporadically throughout the beginning of 2021, but Jones stepped back into the role, most recently appearing in storyline this February.

Andrews hasn't revealed when he'll be back on GH viewers' screens, but he did post a photo of his reunion with GH co-star Brook Kerr (Portia Robinson) with the caption, "Boom!" He also re-posted some GH teasers that reveal Taggert may start digging into the past of Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), who has been harassing his daughter, Trina (Sydney Mikayla).

In addition to his GH role, which he took on in 1996, Andrews is known for his roles as Hal Michaels on Days of our Lives, Walker Daniels on As the World Turns, and Agent Trumball on All My Children.
